Deirdre was born and raised in West Virginia. She graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing. She joined UWSAW, in January 2022, in the new preschool coordinated enrollment position. In November 2022, she became the Director of Community Impact. Before joining UWSAW, Deirdre worked for Girl Scouts with councils in Virginia and West Virginia. Her positions with Girl Scouts focused on volunteer support, retaining/recruiting membership, and community partnerships.
She currently lives in Churchville with her husband and two rescue pups. Deirdre enjoys spending time with her family and friends (and dogs!), taking early morning walks and watching the wildlife, reading, and searching for rare books in library book sales and antique stores.
Professional affiliations include being a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of the USA and Friends of Staunton Public Library. Deirdre is the treasurer for Friends of Staunton Public Library and a member of Staunton-Augusta Rotary Club.
