
Amanda is the School Nutrition Director for Staunton City Schools. She is a vocal advocate for healthy school meals and Farm to School Programming. Amanda holds a seat on the VA State Child Nutrition Advisory Board and is a past member of the Southeast Dairy Association’s School Nutrition Advisory Council. She is a certified Serve Safe Instructor and Proctor. Under her direction, Amanda’s SN team received the 2018 & 2019 Dorothy McAuliffe School Nutrition Award; were three time winners of VA School Breakfast Challenge; were the only VA school to receive the 2018 USDA Gold Turnip the Beet Award and was selected for 2018 Chef Ann Foundation School Food Support Initiative Grant valued at $200,000.00. Amanda was a 2020 Dawbarn Education Award recipient. This award recognizes individuals in education who go beyond the requirements of their assignments and who inspire and encourage students to reach their full potential. Amanda currently holds a board seat on the Greater Augusta Wellness Partnership and works on Staunton’s Kids Matter Day planning committee. Amanda appreciates being a part of the United Way, because their commitment to solving community-based issues, align with her service centered values.
Amanda is passionate about everything food, and loves expressing her creativity through school foods. At home, she loves gardening, cooking, and artisan crafting. She also loves spending quiet time with her family and pets.
